The MASWCD youth education contests
were
designed to give students an understanding of the importance of the local soil
and water conservation district in conserving our soil and water
resources. The theme for the 2005-2006 contest was "Our Soil a
Layer of Life."
POSTER CONTEST
The MASWCD Poster Contest
was divided into two categories:
Mural and Poster. Fifth
and sixth grade students were eligible to enter the contest. 2005-2006
contest winners received cash prizes along with having their poster on display
at the Minnesota State Fair, in the
Department of Natural Resources Building. The posters also went on display at
the MASWCD Annual Convention in December, 2006. In
addition, the first place poster contest winner received a scholarship to
conservation camp. Winners for the 2005-2006 contests were as
follows:
