2001-2002 Contest Results

Trees - Rooted in Our Future

The MASWCD Poster, Essay and Video Contests were designed to give students an understanding of the importance of the local soil and water conservation district in conserving our soil and water resources.  The theme for the 2001-2002 contest was "Trees - Rooted in Our Future." 

 

POSTER CONTEST

The 2001-2002 MASWCD Poster Contest was divided into three categories:   Mural, Poster and Computer Generated Poster.  Fifth and sixth grade students were eligible to enter the contest.  2001-2002 contest winners received cash prizes along with having their poster on display at the Minnesota State Fair, in the Department of Natural Resources Building.  The posters were on display at the MASWCD Annual Convention and Trade Show in December, 2002.  In addition, the first place poster contest winner received a scholarship to conservation camp.  Contest winners for the 2001-2002 contests were as follows:

Murals

1st Place    5th Grade Class at Goodridge School, Pennington SWCD

ESSAY CONTEST

2001-2002 contest winners received savings bonds and were invited to read their essays at the MASWCD Annual Convention in December, 2002.  The contest was open to Minnesota students as follows:
